'Pupils, parents and guardians have been showering teachers and support staff' in schools across Oxfordshire 'with praise, thanking them for their dedication during the pandemic.'

'To coincide with today’s national Thank a Teacher Day, Oxfordshire County Council asked for messages of appreciation for teaching and support staff, who have worked tirelessly to provide lessons and resources, in many cases remotely, during the past year.'

'The council is publishing some of the tributes on its website and sharing on social media, using the hashtag #ThankATeacher.'

Here is the comment they have published about Mrs Gilday - one of our amazing teachers in Year 5 - sent in by Charlie.

Glory Farm School, Bicester (from a pupil, with acrostic poem):

“I would like to thank Mrs Gilday for being my amazing year five teacher and supporting me when I've needed it over the past year.”

We are so proud of not only all the staff in our school, but also our children, our parents, our governors and our local community.  All the learning achieved and the support for our families would not have been possible without everyone working together.  So THANK YOU FROM ALL OF US TOO!
