Current Topic

Spring Term 3, 2022 - ‘Whose land is it anyway?’

During this history based topic, children will be learning about the Anglo Saxon invasion, looking at settlements, agriculture and kingdoms. In addition to understanding what leisure and entertainment was like during this time period. Children will also put into practice their research skills, investigating their own historical enquiry. Our text focus for the term is Beowulf retold by Rob Lloyd Jones.

During art lessons, they will be exploring traditional Anglo Saxon patterns and crafts of the time, focusing on brooches. Pupils will have an opportunity to explore printing techniques, design and print their own Anglo Saxon brooch inspired pattern.

Reminders and Rountines

Children must bring a water bottle into school each day and all school uniform should be clearly labelled to ensure it can be returned to your child if misplaced. If you have arranged for your child to be collected by another adult that this is communicated to the office or the class teacher.
