Safer Internet Day 2021
On Tuesday 9th February, as part of internet safety day, children undertook a range of activities linked to the importance of keeping safe online.
EYFS and Nursery heard the stories 'Webster's Bedtime' and 'Webster's Manners' learning the importance of not having screen time before bed. They have done a fantastic job of making their very own 'Webster the spider' and teaching him alternative activities that he can do before bedtime.
Year 1 and 2 wrote letters to Webster reminding him not to talk to strangers and to seek adults help if unsure of something they see online. Whilst Year 3 and 4 shared the texts 'Chicken Clicking' and 'Penguin Pig' before discussing the reliability of what can be shared online and the importance of seeking advice from trusted adults and using passwords. Reminding us to 'think before you click.'
In Year 5 and 6, they worked hard debating for and against the use of mobile phones under the age of 13 and the reasons for age limits on a range of apps, websites and social media platforms, with a particular focus on cyber-bullying.
Thank you to all for your hard work on this!
