Emotional Support Available At Glory Farm School

At Glory Farm School our vision is to ensure that every child is the best they can be.

We want all of our young people to feel safe and secure within our school as we believe this is the key to learning and making progress. The most important thing for our children is for them to know they have a voice, are listened to and are heard.

At some time in our lives we all experience difficulties and children are not immune to the same problems that we as adults encounter. At Glory Farm we recognise the need to offer your child support through these difficult periods.

Mrs Helen Black is the trained Emotional Learning Support Assistant (ELSA) at Glory Farm School and is also play therapy and Mental Health first aid trained.  She can offer 1:1 support for a range of emotional, social or mental health difficulties.

Our Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA’s) have many skills in Emotional Literacy and offer a warm and caring approach when supporting our young people. They may work with your child on an individual basis or as part of a small group and can support with developing young people’s social interaction skills; increasing self -esteem; anger management skills; sharing worries and supporting to decrease anxiety.

If we feel that the provision we offer is not the best fit for your child then we can refer to the Mental Health Support Team (MHST) and Child and Adult Mental Health Service (CAMHS).
